The answer is simpler than you think.
The basics: 6 months per treatment
REINS crystalline protection is designed for at least 6 months of active protection with normal daily use. That means: wearing them daily in the city, at work, or during weekend trips. The crystals remain active as long as they are exposed to light and the protective layer remains intact.
Do you regularly expose your sneakers to daylight or sunlight? Then you are getting the most out of the protection.
Signs that it is time for a new treatment
You don't have to wait for the calendar. Your sneakers will tell you themselves:
- Dirt adheres more easily; where you used to be done with just one wipe, you now need multiple attempts.
- Stains penetrate deeper; moisture or mud no longer disappears from the surface but soaks into the material.
- The shoe feels less fresh; even after cleaning, a dull or worn feeling remains.
- More than 6 months ago, even if you see no clear signs, the protection is due for replacement after 6 months.
How to treat again?
The same steps as the first time, but now cleaning is even more important. After months of use, there is a layer of dirt on the shoe that can disrupt the adhesion of the new protective layer.
- Clean thoroughly with the REINS cleaner and a microfiber cloth.
- Dry completely; no moisture on the surface.
- Apply two layers of crystalline protection using the nebulizer.
- Wait 72 hours for optimal adhesion; avoid rain during this period.
